As a creative, the first and most important advice is to turn on the faucet and let it flow.
I looked up this sentiment so I could properly attribute a quote to it, but found this nugget instead:
Good stuff. But it goes against my purpose here, so we shall consider the strip’s punchline a jest and move on.
As I was saying: You have to start somewhere. Even if it is drivel. Clean it up later. But I can’t have an intro post about how I became infatuated with a dude for turning down leftover wedding cake. That’s a one-off, not the essence of why we’re here. We have to establish something. Even if it is drivel.
I am a writer and cannot focus on one project for very long. The wind of creativity moves through me, and I with it. I am trying to redevelop discipline in creative writing because I am ready for a big new thing. Is that a book? Is that a new professional endeavor? I do not know.
Whatever that big new thing is, I need to clear all the superfluous stories rattling around in the ol’ noggin. All this build-up with no release is causing me great stress. The rusty faucet must once again yield to the current of creativity.
I am going to make this endeavor as simple as possible. No promoting, no pandering. Terrible SEO. Anti-influencer mentality. Will my mother stumble upon this site? Let us hope not.
Water’s on, soil’s thirsty. Let’s see what grows.
